Representation of Serbia for the promotion of investments in China
As part of the further development of China, an Investment Promotion Bureau was opened in the city of Sanya on Hainan Island.
The Bureau's main tasks will include providing services for companies and investment projects, establishing and managing investment connections and investment platforms at home and abroad. , construction and management of information systems for investment management as well as investment promotion.
The Investment Promotion Bureau in Sanja will focus on helping the development of the tourism sector, modern high-tech services as well as highly efficient agricultural industry.
The bureau will provide guidance to companies in planning and designing projects and attracting investment.
China's ultimate goal is to make the entire island a free trade zone on a similar principle as Hong Kong.
This is among other things, the reason for our business relocation from Guangzhou to the city of Sanya.
The Investment Promotion Bureau in Sanja issued a proclamation and public invitation to foreign countries to open their representative offices within the Bureau.
As a personal friend of Mr. Liu Wei director of the international department of the Bureau mr. Glušac was among the first to learn about this invitation and forwarded it to the embassies and chambers of commerce of the countries of our region in China, from Slovenia to Macedonia.
We were contacted first by Serbia and 11.10.2021. cooperation was achieved with the opening of the Serbian International Business Center (Serbia (Sania) International Business Service Point).
Mr. Saša Jeremić vice consul of Serbia in China, mrs. Jelena Grubor Stefanović, director of the representative office of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce in China and Mr. Josip Glušac(Gabriel group).
From the Chinese side, the signing of the agreement was attended by: Mr. Hui Weigang, Chairman of the Bureau, Mr. Liu Wei, Director of the Bureau's International Department and Mr. Wu Jinyu Director of the International Department of the Investment Bureau.
According to the cooperation agreement signed by the two sides, the China-Serbia Exchange Center is expected to become a comprehensive exchange link between the city of Sanya and other areas of the Free Port Hainan's trade with Serbia.
Serbia is the first country in the world to open its offices within the Investment Promotion Bureau.
This is the start of the Sanya Investment Promotion Bureau's grand plans to build a 12,000 square meter international cultural and trade exchange center in the science and technology city.
The service point of Serbia will be the first national service that will be located in the premises of the center.
With this agreement, Serbia received the use of an office within the Bureau for three years free of charge.

Opening of the Serbian International Business Center in Sanya
For the American correspondent from Sanya (Vanessa Jencks), Mr. Josip gave an interview on the occasion of the opening of the Bureau, and we are transcribing parts of that interview:
"I am good friends with the director of the Investment Promotion Bureau in Sanya, so when he told me about this project, I decided that my connections could help and I got involved."
Mr. Glušac is the general director of Aoluola Internatoinal Trade Co. LTD and the company Sanya Gabriel Import & Export. His network of acquaintances in China has been built for more than a decade and brought to a fruitful gain for Sanya.
"I contacted several embassies and chambers of commerce. When I got in touch with the Serbian consulate, they were very excited and delighted to get involved strong>.
Serbia has an estimated populationlation of 6.8 million with key industries including agriculture, mining, manufacturing, machinery and construction."
Glušac commented that several countries are currently in negotiations and intend to join, leading to advantages for both foreign and and for local companies.
"The main advantage is that many countries will be represented in one place, so there will be opportunities for bilateral cooperation."
China is obviously one country, but Chinese companies can connect with many countries and countries," Glušac said.
However, the initiative of Mr. The mouse didn't stop there.
We used the visit of Serbian officials to introduce them to Hainan JOINHOPE Agricultural Scientific Research, one of the leading companies in China for the research and development of agricultural seeds.
Mr. Saša Jeremić, vice consul of Serbia in China, Mrs. Jelena Grubor Stefanović (director of the representative office of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce in China), Mr. Josip Glušac (Gabriel group)
After the contract signing ceremony and tour of the Hainan JOINHOPE Agricultural Scientific Research Center Mrs. Stefanović gave an interview to local television and stated the areas where she expects the most from this new cooperation.
"We foresee these five areas of cooperation in the future: tourism, agriculture, trade and investments, cooperation in high-tech industry and culture and sports.
As far as tourism is concerned, Stefanović stated that Hainan is still relatively unknown to the Serbian public, but that their Chamber of Commerce plans to "help promote and raise awareness of Sanja to our tour operators and travel agencies".
"On the other hand, Serbia as a landlocked country can offer different types of tourism for Chinese travelers coming from Hainan.
Serbia is the only country in Europe that does not require visas for Chinese citizens, which is an important aspect of this area for cooperation.
Given that Yazhou Bay is an important base for seed technologies and storage, it is no surprise that Stefanović mentioned the plans around this industry.
She mentioned the bilateral agreement on economic and cultural exchange from 2019 signed between the "Hajnan Province and the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina of Serbia, which is the largest agricultural region in Serbia".
"Now we had the first a round of talks on cooperation between Hainan JOINHOPE Agricultural Scientific Research and the Serbian National Institute for Cereals and Crops in the field of joint research and development of corn seeds and other new seeds in the form of a joint venture.
Given that Hainan offers tax benefits, access to ASEAN and RCEP, Ms. Stefanović has a positive view of that area.
“Hainan is becoming the best new place for foreign investors and CEOs based in China – and our office will work closely with the Sanya Investment and Trade Promotion Bureau to promote Sanya as an upcoming key trade and investment destination in Serbia and the region. of highly qualified talents to take advantage of all the advantages offered by the FTZ and bring here and further develop their scientific and technological ideas." in China.
"Our culture is very friendly, hospitable and we are close to our families and friends - which makes the overall quality of life an important aspect when choosing a location." China, where Serbs are in positions in tennis, football, basketball and others.
This was a sign that sport is an important area of bilateral development and another aspect that makes Sanja a sparkling destination due to the warm weather, perfect for sporting enjoyment all year round.
Finally, the Serbs could be expected to make their bring the culinary arts to Sanya if the conditions are right, which would make our current residents of Sanya even happier.
“The recently opened Serbian restaurant in Shanghai, Yugo Grill, has become a focal point for Serbs all over China.
This is where they come to socialize and enjoy the delicious Serbian food that we all miss.
Many come from all over China to Shanghai just for the restaurant, so we hope to see a Sanya edition of Yugo Grill soon. ", finished Mrs. Stefnović.
Mr. Glušac continues his mission of spreading friendship and cooperation between China and countries from our region.
